Other Details to Note

Cell service is limited in the area - Verizon seems to work well but others, such as T-Mobile do not work on the mountain. We do have satellite Wi-Fi at the house but anyone who has used satellite internet knows it can be spotty at times. Spring/Summer Wildlife Note: We are located in the mountains, surrounded by woods. This is the natural habitat for a lot of North Carolina wildlife, much of which comes out after dark. Be mindful of leaving food/trash outside overnight as black bears are common and have stolen our trashcan many times. If out walking after dark, keep flashlights with you and be mindful of your surroundings. WINTER DRIVING Please be mindful that you are renting a chalet in the mountains. Most roads in our area are well maintained but will be curvy, steep and narrow due to being located in the mountains. There are limited streetlights on mountain roads. No changes or refunds are given due to fear of heights or mountain roads. Snow tire chains and/or 4-wheel drive vehicles are highly encouraged during winter months in the event of inclement weather. Again, the road to our home is STEEP and WINDY. We cannot control the weather and no refunds will be given due to weather conditions, so we recommend the purchase of Travel Insurance for all planned vacations. Travel Insurance will protect your Investment in the event of a weather event that would make roads impassable to vehicles with 4WD and/or chains. Our home is located in a quiet neighborhood and is not suitable for parties and large, loud gatherings. Smoking is strictly prohibited on the property - please do this at the street if necessary. Please note: We have security surveillance cameras on the exterior of the property. Please do not move, remove, and/or tamper with the security cameras. Only dogs are allowed in our pet friendly home. Dogs are not allowed on the beds or on other furniture and must be crated if left alone in the house. No other pets are allowed unless previously agreed to by the host. Pet fee of $75 for non-service animal stays. Must be 21 years of age to book.

This is a nice cabin in a BEAUTIFUL spot. We all needed a break from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, and this location provided exactly that. Our weekend just happened to be during an abnormally cold week, so we didn't get to enjoy the hot tub, but the view, the fireplace, and the snow were perfect. The downstairs bedrooms were a bit chilly, but tolerable with a couple extra blankets.

The chalet is about halfway up the mountain - along a winding road. There is plenty of street parking out in front of the house but no off-street parking/driveway. SUV/4-wheel drive vehicles are almost a requirement during the winter months and snow-chains are HIGHLY recommended.
